  • Browning BLR questions. steel reciever vs aluminum

May 04, 2012 · The BLR doesn't have the same problems as the shot gun did and the lock up is all steel and similar to the Newton, Weatherby and Rem. 788 multiple lug interrupted thread type bolts. • Changes in the Browning BLR? 24hourcampfire

Dec 22, 2009 · I know they made the BLR in a steel receiver and straight grip called the BLR Lightweight 81 for a while. • BLR steel reciever? Marlin Firearms

All had steel receivers until about 1996 when the BLR Lightning came out. Next came the Lightweight, which is the type still made today. • Considering a Browning BLR The High Road

Dec 31, 2012 · My "go to" field gun is an older BLR w/all steel receiver in 308. It's a fantastic gun. Unlike the competition's lever actions, the Browning has a detachable mag. That's nice for a number of reasons. Also, the entire trigger assembly follows the lever down when you eject a cartridge. Mr. Browning knew what he was doing with that one.

  • Browning BLR Shooters Forum

Jul 29, 2005 · This aluminum alloy receiver is refined and heat treated same way aircraft parts are made. I doubt very much that you will ever have a problem related to the receiver. Browning builds a very good product. BLR's hold their value quite well. I'm not really clear on why some good rifles sell for so much less on the used rack.
